– Take your time. Try and retry the combinations to find the style that best fits your home and, at the same time, reflects your lifestyle.
– Don’t settle for second best. The kitchen is the place where you spend most of your time at home, but it is also the most dangerous, so don’t settle for second best. The kitchen must be a safe place for you and your family, and must also last a long time. It is one of the places where you will spend a large part of your day, so keep that in mind when you are designing it!
– Say no to beautiful, but impractical kitchens. Avoid choosing a beautiful kitchen that does not suit the space in your home. We all want mega Hollywood-style kitchens with a big island or peninsula where we can cook Christmas dinners for the entire family, however we really should put practicality and functionality first in order to use the space more effectively. Opt for a functional and comfortable style of furnishing and avoid creating narrow spaces.
– Don’t underestimate small spaces. There are lots of solutions to make the best possible use of the available space. Kitchens for compact spaces should be attractive, but also functional. Don’t forget you can choose modular kitchens, which offer equipment and accessories inside the kitchen cabinets, to help you make the best use of the spaces.
– Avoid letting other people decide for you. Take advice, but you are the one running the show. Your mum would like a classic kitchen, your sister-in-law an ultra-modern, minimalist one, but what about you? Take all the advice you are give, but remember that the good thing about designing a modular kitchen is that it is made to measure. It is tailor-made to fit your space and usage requirements and you can choose from a thousand combinations. So, be brave, think about what you like and choose based on the emotion that the kitchen conveys to you in everyday life.
