The fluidity of nature shapes design

Design is more than just form – it is a language that interprets the beauty of nature and tells stories, transforming space through a fluid, three-dimensional expression where light and materials interact to create motion and harmony.

“What we love about this project is realizing the dream which designers and artists had for a long time: to recreate the subtle beauty of nature.”

Patrik Schumacher - Principal, Zaha Hadid Architects

“Our approach echoes the timeless coherence of nature but also celebrates Febal Casa’s heritage; marrying the fluid forms evident in the natural world with detailed craftmanship in a collection that embodies both contemporary innovation and historic tradition.”

Maurizio Meossi - Project Director, Zaha Hadid Architects

ONDA is the result of a collaboration between the forward-looking vision of one of the world’s most revolutionary architectural firms, Zaha Hadid Architects, and the manufacturing process of Febal Casa. A collection inspired by the gentle ripples of the Adriatic Sea along the Romagna Riviera – the cradle of la dolce vita.

The concept

The shape of wind and water

ONDA is inspired by the low, flowing waves of the Adriatic Sea – ripples shaped by the sandy seabed and now reinterpreted as a distinctive feature across the glass surfaces of the sideboard and kitchen island door fronts. A material interpretation of motion, where every detail evokes the element of water and its natural fluidity.

“This project integrates commercial, design and creative dimensions. The production of glass plays a key role in this journey. Employing skilled craftsmanship, we have transformed an iconic concept into a product ready to enter homes across the world, made possible by expert glass shaping techniques.”

Emanuel Colombini - Presidente and CDO, Colombini Group
